The human ability to be present and aware
Not overwhelmed with the information or the world around us, harnessing focus as a method of staying present, mindfulness is being caught up with thoughts and not connecting with our bodies, how we feel and our emotions and how we are driven by our thoughts. Awareness is the key to mindfulness, take notice of your thoughts, feelings, body sensations and the world around you is the first step to mindfulness. The process of mindfulness allows us to gain insight, reduce stress and become aware of ourselves as well as our surroundings. Does not require training or a special procedure, everyone can be mindful, however, trained or practised methods such as meditation or yoga can also be used to get into a mindful state.
